Remembrance Assembly12 November 2018 (by Victoria Giliker (No01)) |
Friday 9th November
On Friday 9th November, we held a special Remembrance Assembly to commemorate the centenary of the end of the First World War. Our service included learning about remembrance, the poppy as a symbol, and Mrs McNamara read out the names from the Harpur Hill war memorial. She told the children about the men who died and the history of remembrance in Harpur Hill. Darren, our brass teacher, played the Last Post before the silence, and ended with Reveille.
