Cooking at Home

Our children love to cook at school, and there are plenty of opportunities where they can practise their cooking skills at home. Cooking at home not only allows the children to embed their DT skills but it also allows the practise of reading and maths skills. It is also a great way to encourage children to try new foods.

Our DT curriculum provides children with a spiral curriculum that builds upon the children’s cooking skills each year. Here is a summary of the progression of some of the cooking skills your child will be developing depending on their year group:
