School Governor - Mrs K O'Brien
I’m Kim, a married mother of three and I have lived in Buxton all my life. I am often present on the school run and I might be recognisable to some of you.
I grew up in Harpur Hill and I have fond memories of my own time as a pupil at Harpur Hill Primary School. I have three children who attend the school and nursery and I have previously been involved in planning and helping at events with the PTFA. I also enjoyed volunteering in the classroom whilst on maternity leave with my youngest.
Throughout my career I have worked in a variety of settings, with children of all ages with a range of individual needs. I currently work for Derbyshire County Council children’s services.
On my days off I love spending time with my family. I am happiest when I’m making to-do lists and ticking off jobs and I enjoy relaxing with a good book.
I am committed to supporting positive outcomes for all children and in working together to help them reach their full potential. I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with the school community as a Governor on the leadership and management committee.
