Children in school

22 June 2020 (by Victoria Giliker (No01))

Last week, the school was buzzing. We welcomed back some of the children who we had not seen since March!

The staff are so proud of all the children and how they have adapted to the new routines in school. The children took it all in their stride and were just so happy to be back.

The Nursery children were busy playing pirates, walking the plank, planting a herb garden, painting, water play, model making, reading, and of course, playing with friends.

Some of the children have been learning about doubling in maths, drawing pictures and writing letters to friends at home; they had lots of outdoor learning fun too.

The children in Year 1 made rain sticks. They made their own ‘thankful jars’ too.  They talked about what it means to be thankful, and things that they are thankful for.

The key worker children in Year 3 looked at Tangrams, an ancient Chinese puzzle. The children also really enjoyed creating city skylines using lines, curves, layers and added detail.

Year 6 children had fun with a scavenger hunt in the woods.  They have been enjoying some gardening and writing some free verse poems.

Children throughout the school made some fantastic Father's Day cards.
