School Governor: Mr David Smith
I was born in Blackpool and then left to study at Liverpool, Leicester and Manchester Universities. I later worked for a police force, a charity, a private company and now for a local authority. After spending 10 years in Nottingham, I finally settled in Buxton in 2007.
I then followed the family tradition of having children and ended up with two beautiful daughters (with a little help from my other half). My eldest started at Harpur Hill – and had a wonderful first year – in 2014. Hopefully my youngest will follow suit in a few years time and will have an equally good introduction to school life.
I hope that my experience of strategy development, performance management and safeguarding can help to make our fantastic school even better.
I became a parent governor in 2014 and have responsibility for looking at how the school responds to its safeguarding and SEN requirements.
